I love the way that Andrew is so passionate about China, and is always positive, and makes you feel like everything is okay. I really appreciate how no matter what, any concern you had, he would be there to speak to you to put your mind to rest, any time of the day. Every problem I had before arriving in China was pretty much resolved by Andrew – Lily Mottershead – China 2016

I really liked how confident I was made in having any reservations or queries about the placement/application answered. I also found the past applicants reviews, videos, photos a great motivator/comforter during the process. They really kept me going when you’re on the final 4 months of uni and give you something to aim towards. Being able to (relatively) tailor the placement to what I wanted was a big bonus; choosing our top regions/age group etc – Shea Murphy – China 2016

dsc_0538I think Andrew runs the scheme really well. He keeps the scheme small and personal, and it means you can contact him at any time with problems and issues. I saw other possible companies which could arrange teaching in China, but they all seemed fairly impersonal. I was quite impressed by the website’s transparency, and by Andrew’s realistic presentation of teaching and life in China. Andrew himself is so easy to get along with. I liked the clear upfront cost breakdowns. I also liked the organisational/logistical aspects of the company. CTE responds quickly to problems; organise the various steps for visas, medicals, TEFL certs etc really well; and updates frequently and easily, through the use of wechat – Edmond Zhou – China 2016

The style of the company is very personable, which is exactly what you need when you’re about to exchange normality for the unknown. Andrew acted a kind of ‘stable hand on the shoulder’, to guide you through the more complicated elements of the process – Huw Jenkins – China 2016

Andrew is very relatable as he has had the same experiences as us in China and in the Visa process. He is also very approachable which I really appreciated. There was a lot of support in how to do certain things, for example forms were essentially written out for us, we were told all we needed to know about agencies and we were put in touch with STA and given the discount. Andrew was very good at calming us when we had worries, all we needed to do was message him and he would tell us that there was nothing to worry about and that he would sort it out for us – Lydia Barritt – China 2016

It was recommended by someone whose opinion I trusted. The website was well presented, well put together and easy to understand which is not something that I can say for a lot of the other companies doing this – Nibras Ibnomer – China 2016

I was looking for a way to get to China to study Mandarin and looked at various ways to do so. I stumbled across several job opportunities to teach English in China, but thought I would not be able to participate as the various company websites stressed that I had to be a native English speaker. Then, I came across The China Teaching Experience which had a very attractive website and, even better, it did not mention that the applicants had to be native speakers.  Another thing I would like to highlight as good with The China Teaching Experience was the amount of teaching content we were granted. Teaching felt a lot less scary after going through the TEFL programme, and I also felt more confident that I could construct lesson plans myself after Andrew sent us material that had been put together by other teachers in the past. It helped me enormously in understanding how a lesson could be carried out – Line Roesaeg – China 2016

The style is very helpful. Firstly, the Skype interview being so casual was a great way to remove any fears I had. The China Teaching Experience offers personalised support, is really friendly and accessible, encouraging, and has lots of information available. Andrew is always there to help you with advice and support especially when you are dealing with your China contact which is great because that can be really difficult with the different attitudes and ways of going about things in UK/ China – Cassie Mc Goldrick – China 2016

The style is incredibly personal, I really can’t fault it. I honestly felt as though Andrew cared about every single applicant and was there to help at any opportunity. It helped so much to know that there was somebody there to answer all of your ridiculous questions and that they’d get back to you about them asap. I loved that everyone was individually met at the airport, and that everyone was individually looked after. It’s really great. The structure is great – getting your flights and transfer reimbursed, paid holidays, TEFL course included in the price etc. These things make it much more affordable! Jessica Hearne – China 2016

The personal side of things was very helpful in easing the stressful times both before and getting to China. I heard about The China Teaching Experience through my University at a careers event, where Andrew held a presentation. Up until then I wasn’t aware there where companies that helped people to go teach abroad. I was drawn to it because it felt like you would be well looked after by the company and it offered a great deal considering part time work for pretty much full time pay and accommodation included etc. It seemed like a ‘too good to be true’ opportunity for someone looking for an adventure. Then when you realise it is genuine and you have a look at a well-constructed and informative website, it draws you in more of course! – Irene Van Der Sluis – China 2016

img_1911The absolute best part of the company is that Andrew gets to know everyone. It’s not just about getting to know him, but the level of security and comfort that offers. It’s obvious that he, and the company, care primarily about our welfare, and that seems to be quite rare in sea of companies that offer TEFL and Teaching. When I was having a bit of a wobble about the location of my school Andrew was right on hand to talk about it and ease my worries, which made a huge difference. The whole application process was easy and relaxed, which again made me much more comfortable in making the decision, as it always seemed to be one small step at a time, rather than a huge application process thrown at me out of left-field – Emily Golland – China 2016
